During the arab spring the importance of free, anonymous and uncensored communication has become clear to us. Thus likewise Katharina Milz determines the essential role of social networks in the Arab world in a study for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. These new types of media were utilized by users for the purpose of organizing and grouping, regarding certain interests. One such application increased the displeasure of those in power who decided to restrict the technology of the Internet to limit the supportive component of free speech.
What do we concieve among anonymous communication?
At this point, the Project AnCom aims at establishing a service to guarantee a free, anonymous and secure level of opinion exchange.
Project AnCom is in beta stage and offers the opportunity for all users of the World Wide Web to conduct a private, safe and unrestricted exchange of views. Whether in Iran, China, Somalia or Tongo - each user is able to securely access our services thanks to a SSL - 128 bit encryption. As part of this service there is an RSA 2048 bit Chat available which can not be intercepted by unwanted third parties according to current standards. In addition, the exchange of smaller files (<10MB) is available in encrypted form. The transfer will only be successful if both partners know the same password and have unlocked another. The entire data transmission is achieved by a combination of a symmetrical block encryption algorithm and an asymmetric cryptographic method. The storage of non-personal data is carried out in an equivalent encryption method. To avoid the possibility of DNS blocking new domains are published periodically. Hence it is possible to bypass the DNS blocking in order to ensure the project's goals of free, safe and unfettered expression.
